TIFF, Photoshop,
and JPEG Export Options
You can set the export options when you export SolidWorks documents
as TIFF, Adobe® Photoshop®, or JPEG files.
To set the export options:
Click File,
Save As.
Select Tif
(*.tif),
Adobe Photoshop Files (*.psd),
or JPEG (*.jpg) for Save
as type, then click Options.
Select from the options described below,
then click OK.
Click Save
to export the document.
Image type. Select:
Tiff Compression scheme. Select
the type supported by the target system:
Uncompressed.
Packbits.
Results in the smallest color image.
Group 4 Fax.
Results in the smallest file size of the three formats, but can only be
used for a black and white image.
Remove background. TIFF exports
of parts or assemblies. Makes the background transparent, effectively
removing it before export. After export, use an image editor to insert
a custom background.
Jpeg Compression. JPEG exports
only. Adjust the slider to set the compression level. A lower compression
setting results in higher quality.
Capture type. Select either Screen
capture or Print capture.
Drawing options. Drawings only.
All sheets (multipage).Enabled
when drawing contains more than one sheet. Exports all sheets.
Current
sheet. Exports current drawing sheet only.
Use
sheet size(s). Enabled when Print
capture is selected. Exports according to drawing sheet dimensions.
Use
print size. Enabled when Print
capture is selected. Enables Print
capture options.
Print
capture options.
Capture the image at a
user-defined DPI (dots per inch)
and Paper size.
The drawing Width and Height
information updates automatically. For drawings, select Scale
to fit or set the scale in Scale.
Set Paper size to User
defined to specify a custom Width
and Height.
When you save a part or
assembly, SolidWorks displays a blue and magenta rectangle representing
the border of the image to export.
Note:
Large images can take a long time to export.
