Geometric Elements

You can add geometric elements to the graphics area. The elements are associated with a comment.

To add geometric elements to a comment:

Click one of the following geometric element markup tools on the Markup tab or the Tools, Markup menu.

  • Line . Click to start the line and click again to create a vertex, and so on.

Horizontal and vertical snaps are available automatically.

To draw an individual line, click and drag. The Line tool remains enabled. You can draw multiple lines, either starting from an existing point, or as new lines.

  • Rectangle . Click to place one corner, move the pointer to the opposite corner, then click again.

  • Circle . Click to place the centerpoint, move the pointer to set the radius, then click again.

  • Arc . Click to place the arc centerpoint. Move the pointer and click again to set the radius. Move the pointer to define the arc and click again.

  • Spline . Click to place the first point, move the pointer to the next point and click, and so on. Press Esc to release the tool.

You can also use the click-and-drag method to create rectangles, circles, arcs, and splines.

To release a tool, click another tool, or click Select .

To edit a geometric element:

  • To resize an element, select it and drag a handle .

  • To move an element, drag it (not the handles).

  • To delete an element, select it and press Delete.
