Importing Equations

You can import equations from a text file into a part or assembly.

  1. In the part or assembly, click Tools > Equations.
  2. In the Equations dialog box, click Import.
  3. In the Open dialog box:
    1. Select the text file.
    2. Select or clear Link to file.

      When Link to file is selected, changes you make in the text file update the equations and variables in the model.

    3. Click Open.

    The equations from the text file are imported into the model.

    If you selected Link to file, then in the Equations dialog box:
    • Under Active, the icon indicates equations that are linked to the external file.
    • At the bottom of the dialog box, Linked File displays the path to the external file.
