Exporting Documents as Pro/ENGINEER Files

To export a SolidWorks document as a Pro/ENGINEER file:

  1. Click File, Save As.

  2. Set Save as type to:

  • ProE Part (*.prt) for parts

  • ProE Assembly (*.asm) for assemblies

  1. Click Save.

SolidWorks exports solids and surfaces only, not feature data. If you export an assembly document that is referenced by other open documents, a message appears directing you how to proceed. See Saving an Assembly and its Components.
