Creating the 2D Simplification Study

You define a 2D simplification study from the 3D model and perform a nonlinear static study.

  1. Click the down arrow on Study Advisor (Simulation CommandManager) and select New Study.
  2. In the PropertyManager, under Name, type bolted connection.
  3. Under Type, click Nonlinear .
  4. Under Options, select Use 2D Simplification.
  5. Click .
  6. In the 2D Simplification PropertyManager, under Type, select Axi-symmetric.
  7. For Section plane, select Plane1 from the FeatureManager design tree.
  8. For Axis of symmetry, select Axis1 from the FeatureManager design tree.

    This is the axis about which the geometry, loads, and fixtures are symmetric.

  9. Click .
