Creating the 2D Simplification Study
You define a 2D simplification study from the 3D model and perform a nonlinear static study.
- Click the down arrow on Study Advisor
(Simulation CommandManager) and select New Study.
- In the PropertyManager, under Name, type bolted connection.
- Under Type, click Nonlinear
.
- Under Options, select Use 2D Simplification.
- Click
.
- In the 2D Simplification PropertyManager, under Type, select Axi-symmetric.
- For Section plane, select Plane1 from the FeatureManager design tree.
- For Axis of symmetry, select Axis1 from the FeatureManager design tree.
This is the axis about which the geometry, loads, and fixtures are symmetric.
