Load History Curve
The Load History Curve dialog box allows you to define a load history curve for use with variable amplitude fatigue event. Use the Scale entry in the Add Event (Variable) PropertyManager to relate the amplitude to the load applied in the study.
You can use copy and paste to populate the table.
The Function Curve dialog lets you import text files containing the data. The curve becomes available for use as a variable amplitude fatigue event. The text file must have a specific format.
Load History Curves usually contain a large amount of data. We recommend that you include the curves that you expect to use in a
curve library
so that they become readily available for other documents and studies. Sample curves are included in the Simulation curve library.
To define a new load history curve manually:
-
Enter a name for the curve.
-
From the Type menu, select Amplitude only, Sampling rate and amplitude, or Time & amplitude.
-
If you select Amplitude and sampling rate, enter the sampling rate.
-
Populate the table. If you selected Time & amplitude, you need to fill in the two columns. Otherwise, you need to populate the second column (amplitude) only.
-
To save the curve for subsequent use, click Save Curve, specify a name and a destination folder for the curve library file and click Save.
-
Click OK.
