P&ID Validation Report Dialog Box

You can display a tree- or text-based status report for the assembly that you are building from a P&ID file. You can print or copy the text-based report.

To open the P&ID Validation Report dialog box, from the Piping and Instrumentation tab, click Report.

To access the Piping and Instrumentation tab:
  1. Create and save a new assembly without closing it, or open an existing assembly.
  2. From the Task Pane, select the Piping and Instrumentation tab.

View options

  Tree view Displays a tree-based view of the P&ID piping and instrumentation system and its status:
  • Each piping system is at the top of the hierarchy.
  • You can expand a piping system to display the required pipe fitting components and equipment .
  • Required connections between pipe fitting components and equipment are displayed with arrows .
  • Piping system component status is color coded:
    Green
    Complete
    Orange
    Incomplete
    Red
    Not started
You can click the Tree button only from the text-based view of the report.
  Show All For tree-based views, displays the status of all piping and instrumentation system components.
  Pipes With Errors Displays a tree-based view of incomplete piping systems that have errors.
Click Text to view error details.
  Pipes With Warnings Displays a tree-based view of incomplete piping systems that have warnings.
Click Text to view warning details.
  Complete Pipes Displays a tree-based view of properly connected piping systems.
  Not Started Displays a tree-based view of the piping systems which you have not started to add to the assembly.
  Text view Displays a text-based status report of the piping and instrumentation system.
You can click the Text button only from the tree-based view of the report.
  Print Opens the Print dialog box to print the text-based report.
  Copy Copies the text-based report into your copy buffer so that you can paste it elsewhere.
