Connecting P and ID Piping Systems to the Equipment

After you insert the P and ID equipment into a routing assembly, you can connect each piping system individually.

  1. On the Piping and Instrumentation tab, for Sort by, select Piping systems.

    You can enter the first few characters of piping system names in Search Pipes to filter the list.

    The piping systems that require processing are indicated with a red flag .

  2. Click Process Pipe.

    The Insert Component dialog box appears.

  3. Drag the piping system components from the dialog box to the graphics area to place them in the assembly.

    If there is not enough information in the P&ID file to identify a selected component, the Select Component dialog box appears. In that case:
    1. Select a component and configuration from the list.
    2. Click Open and place the item in the graphics area.
    You might be prompted to create a route when placing components.

  4. When you have placed all components, click .

    Correctly placed components are indicated with a green flag .
