Specifying Find Parameters for Linear Patterns
The Find: Linear Pattern Parameters dialog box lets you specify Find parameters for a linear pattern. The following parameters are available:
-
Instance count. Set a value for the number of instances in the linear pattern.
Toggle
to change the comparison symbols >, <, and =.
-
Spacing. Set a value for the distance between pattern instances.
Toggle
to change the comparison symbols, if necessary.
-
Seed type. Select a seed type.
-
Seed count. Set a value for the number of pattern seed features.
Toggle
to change the comparison symbols, if necessary.
-
Other direction. Select this when you have a bi-directional linear pattern. You must then specify the parameters for Instance count and Spacing. If you select Other direction, the Find utility searches all combinations of Direction 1 and Direction 2 of a linear pattern to determine if both parameters for Instance count and Spacing are met.
Toggle
to change the comparison symbols, if necessary.
-
Pattern seed only. Select Any, Off, or On to find patterns with only the seed feature patterned in Direction2.
-
Geometry pattern. Select On to find linear patterns created with a geometry pattern. Select Any to find linear patterns regardless if they were created with a geometry pattern. Select Off to find linear patterns created without a geometry pattern.
