Axes

The Axes dialog box lets you control the appearance of the axes while viewing the results. The axes represent the global or local coordinate system used in the plot definition.

• Style.

• • Line. Click this check box to show axes as lines.

  • Cylinder. Click this check box to show axes as cylinders.

  • Line Width. Controls the width of lines to plot axes.

• Axis.

• • Disable Title. When checked, the titles of the axes (X, Y, Z) will not be shown on the plot.

  • Size X, Y, and Z. The sliders control the length of the X, Y, and Z axes on the plot.

  • TicK X, Y, and Z. Control the number of uniformly-spaced Tic marks on the X, Y, and Z axes.

  • Color. Control the colors of the X, Y, and Z axes. To modify a color, click on it, select the desired color, and click OK.

• Grid.

• • XY, YZ, ZX. Sets the planes of optional grids. You can check all, some, or none of the check boxes. The densities of the grids are specified by the specified Tic marks.

  • Edit Color. Sets the color of the grid. To modify the grid’s color, click Edit Color, select the desired color, and click OK.

• Location. Sets the location of the origin of the axes.

• • Origin. The result axes will be placed at the actual origin of the reference coordinate system used in the plot definition.

  • Lower Left. The result axes will be placed in the lower left corner of the plot window.

  • Lower Right. The result axes will be placed in the lower right corner of the plot window.

• Disable. If checked, disables the display of the axes on the plot.

To display the axes at the actual origin of the plot reference coordinate system:

1. Create the result plot using the desired reference coordinate system .

2. Right-click the plot icon and select Axes.

The Axes dialog box appears.

3. Select the desired options for Style, Axes, and Grid.

4. Select Origin from the Location drop-down menu.

5. Click OK.
