Users with access to the Administration tool can access administration functions that
affect their File Explorer view.
For details on the settings you can change, see SolidWorks Enterprise PDM Administration Tool Help:Users and Groups > User Settings.
This procedure describes how to change Explorer settings:
- If you do not want to have to use Get Latest Version to ensure you have the latest version of a file
- If you want Enterprise PDM to automatically check out files when you access them using the Open or Edit command
To view and modify Explorer settings:
- In File Explorer, select .
- In the Administration tool, expand Users.
- Right-click your user name and click Settings.
- In the left pane of the Settings dialog box, click Explorer.
- Under Miscellaneous, select Always work with latest version of files.
- Under Checkout files when, select The Open command is executed or The Edit command is executed.
- Click OK.
- Close the Administration tool.
