Use event-based motion when you can model motion from a sequence of events. The result of an event-based motion task is an action.
A task action defines or constrains the motion of one or more components in the assembly. You can define actions to suppress or activate mates, stop motion, or to change values for motors, forces, or torques.
When you specify a task action to change motor, force, or torque values, you can specify the values during the action by selecting a profile, the action duration, and the post-action value.
Action profiles specify the following for the duration of the task:
- Displacement for displacement motors
- Acceleration for acceleration servo motors
- Velocity for velocity servo motors
- Velocity for originally constant speed motors
- Values for originally constant forces or torques
