Creating Reflected Load Inertia Results

Reflected load inertia is the perceived inertia of an assembly at the motor drive shaft of a rotary motor. For Motion Analysis type studies, you can compute and plot the reflected load inertia.

To compute reflected load intertia:

  1. From a Motion Analysis study, click Results and Plots (MotionManager toolbar).
  2. In the PropertyManager, for Category, select Other Quantities.
  3. For Subcategory, select Reflected Load Inertia..

  4. For the first selection component , select a constant speed rotary motor from the MotionManager tree.

  5. Select the Plot Results options you require, and click .

    The result appears in the MotionManager tree.

  • Reflected Load Inertia Example
    The following example illustrates the relationship between the torque required by a constant speed rotary motor applied to a rotating link within a mechanism and the reflected load inertia. The movement of the mechanism affects the reflected load inertia.
