Flattening Sheet Metal Bodies

You can individually flatten any body in a multibody sheet metal part.

To flatten a body, do one:


  • In the main feature tree, select the part and click Flatten (Sheet Metal toolbar).
  • In the cut list, right-click the body and click Flatten.
  • In either the feature tree or the cut list, right-click the Flat-Pattern feature for the part and click Unsuppress .

To return the part to its bent state:


  • In the cut list, right-click the body and click Exit Flatten.
  • In either the feature tree or the cut list, do one:
    • Click Flatten (Sheet Metal toolbar).
    • Right-click in the graphics area and click Exit Flatten.
    • Click Exit Flatten in the Confirmation Corner.
    • Right-click the Flat-Pattern feature for the part and click Suppress .
To preview the flat pattern of a body:
  • In the FeatureManager design tree or cut list, right-click Flat-Pattern and click Toggle flat display.
  • In the graphics area, right-click the body and click Toggle flat display.
