Use the Component Instance Properties panel to view and edit component instance properties.
From the tree view, expand Components, expand a component, then right-click the component instance and select Properties.
| Part Number |
A code that identifies a component. You can edit the part number when exporting a SolidWorks assembly as IDF data. Otherwise, the SolidWorks component name is used.

| Ref. Des. |
A reference designator uniquely identifies a component instance in a PCB assembly. It typically consists of a letter and a number, where the letter identifies the component type and the number identifies the instance. For example, "R944" is Resistor 944.
CircuitWorks uses the reference designators from the ECAD system if present. Otherwise, CircuitWorks generates its own reference designators. In either case, you can specify a different reference designator.
You can also edit reference designators by clicking a component instance in the CircuitWorks tree twice (slow double-click), typing a new designator, and pressing Enter.

The filter status: Filtered In or Filtered Out.

| Placement |
Not supported by all ECAD systems. - Placed - The component can be modified in the ECAD or MCAD system.
- Unplaced - The component is unplaced.

| Owner |
Not supported by all ECAD systems. Ignored by CircuitWorks (CircuitWorks can modify properties regardless of this property value), but you can change the value when exporting IDF data:

MCAD - Can only be modified in the MCAD system.
- ECAD - Can only be modified in the ECAD system.
- Unowned - Can be modified in either system.

| Rotation (degrees) |
The rotation angle of the component relative to the board’s coordinate system. Positive rotations are counter-clockwise, negative rotations are clockwise.

| Board Side |
The side of the board that the component instance is on: Top or Bottom. Changing the value moves the instance to the same location on the other side of the board.

| X Value (mm) |
X coordinate of the component insertion point relative to the board's origin (typically the lower-left corner).

| Y Value (mm) |
Same as X Value but for the Y coordinate.
|
| Offset (mm) |
The offset distance between the underside of the component and the closest surface of the board.
