Exporting a Motion Study to ADAMS

You can create an ADAMS dataset (.adm) file of a Motion Analysis type motion study. Exported ADAMS data includes the .xmt_bin files for part geometry, and the motion study features listed in the MotionManager tree.

To export a Motion Analysis type study to ADAMS:

  1. Right-click the top-level assembly in the MotionManager tree and click Export to ADAMS.
  2. Enter a file name and click Save.

You cannot export key point manipulations of motion tools such as forces, motors, or contact, and you cannot export feature suppression. To view exported ADAMS data in these cases, you can edit the exported .adm file and replace the "FUNCTION=USER(.)" statements with a dummy ADAMS expression, such as "FUNCTION=30*TIME".
