Changing Trim Tools When Editing Split Features

You can change trim tools from the Split PropertyManager by adding or deleting entities used to define the trim tools.

To change a trim tool when editing a split feature:

  1. Open a stock part with split features.
  2. In the FeatureManager design tree, right-click a split feature and select Edit Feature .
  3. In the Split PropertyManager, modify the Trimming Surfaces under Trim Tools. For example, add or delete a selected trim tool entity.
  4. Click Cut Part.

New bodies are created. You are prompted to allow SolidWorks to attempt to assign all bodies to existing saved bodies. Click:

    • Yes
A message reports the result. New bodies that can be assigned automatically are assigned. The other bodies are not assigned. The resulting body assignments might cause unintended results. Inspect the results to make sure they are correct.
    • No, and none of the bodies are assigned.

You can manually assign new unassigned bodies, or you can reassign bodies that are already assigned.
