Folder Cards

Vault folders, both file and item folders, can have a folder card connected to them where information about the folder is shown. The information is stored in the vault database and displayed when browsing or searching.

Folder cards differ from file and item cards in that the information entered in fields on a folder data card is always inherited to any underlying folders. This means that you do not have to add information into every subfolder unless the information should change. If so, the new information will be inherited into its subfolders.

If you save a new folder card into a folder where another folder card already is saved, the new folder card becomes active. To make a folder card that is not in use active, open the card and resave it.
