Adding Default Data Settings

Add bills of materials formats, add-ins and the Convert and Print tasks after a vault has been created by importing settings from the Default Data directory.

Adding a Convert or Print task also adds the SolidWorks Task Add-in to the Add-ins node.

To import default data settings:

  1. Right-click the vault and click Import.
  2. In the Open dialog box, navigate to install_dir\Default Data.
  3. Select one of the following file types:
    • To import an add-in, select the appropriate .caf file.
    • To import BOM formats or tasks, select the appropriate .cex file.

Use the language code in the file name to select the appropriate file for your language. For example, _gb.cex indicates a settings file for English.

  4. Click Open.

The imported settings appear in the appropriate folder in the Administration tool.

For example, if you select a BOM file, it appears Bills of Materials folder.
