SolidWorks eDrawings Viewer Interface

The SolidWorks eDrawings Viewer interface has toolbars, menus, the SolidWorks eDrawings Manager pane, and a graphics area.

  • The SolidWorks eDrawings Manager in the left pane comprises tabs such as Components, Sheets, and Markup.
  • When you open a file, the most appropriate tab is selected.
  • Select a tab to display it. When you click a tool that has a related tab, the related tab is shown.
  • The graphics area on the right side displays the eDrawings file.
  • The triad orients the model axes in 3D space for part and assembly files.

  • The status bar displays icons to indicate if a file is review or measure enabled.

  • SolidWorks eDrawings Manager

    The SolidWorks eDrawings Manager, located on the left side of the SolidWorks eDrawings Viewer window, displays tabs that let you manage file information.

  • Toolbars

    You can use the tools on the SolidWorks eDrawings Viewer toolbars and on the tabs in the SolidWorks eDrawings Manager to perform many tasks. The toolbar visibility state is remembered between sessions.

  • Shortcut Menus

    When you right-click in the graphics area with a part, assembly, or drawing file open, a context-sensitive shortcut menu appears.

  • Status Bar

    The status bar is located at the bottom of the SolidWorks eDrawings Viewer.

  • Standard Views

  • Shaded Views

    The Shaded tool_Shaded.gif tool toggles 3D model faces and 2D drawings between Shaded mode and Hidden Lines Removed (HLR). You can also choose to show edges in Shaded mode.

  • Perspective Views

    You can display a perspective view of models. A perspective view is the view normally seen by the eye. Parallel lines recede into the distance to a vanishing point.
