Creating a Task Action

When you specify a task action to change motor, force, or torque values, you can specify the values during the action by selecting a profile, the action duration, and the post-action value.

Action profiles specify the following for the duration of the task:
  • Displacement for displacement motors
  • Acceleration for acceleration servo motors
  • Velocity for velocity servo motors
  • Velocity for originally constant speed motors
  • Values for originally constant forces or torques

To create a task action:

  1. From a Motion Analysis motion study, if you are not already in an event-based view, click Event-based Motion View (MotionManager toolbar).
  2. Double-click the Feature column for a selected task.
  3. Select one or more action features:
    • Stop . Stop the motion.
    • Motors . Turn on or off any motor, or to change a constant speed motor according to a selected profile.
    • Forces . Apply or stop applying any force or torque, or to change a constant force or torque according to a selected profile.
    • Mates . Toggle the suppression of a selected mate.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Select the Control:
    • Select On or Off to toggle motors, torques, forces, or mate suppression.
    • Select Change to change the value of a constant speed motor or a constant force.
  6. Under the Value column, enter the value for changed motors, torques, or forces.
  7. Under the Duration column, enter the length of time to apply motors, torques, or forces.
  8. Under the Profile column, select the motor, torque, or force profile type.
