Preview Toolbar

Use the Preview toolbar to manipulate the preview image.

To display the Preview toolbar:

Click the Preview tab at the top of the CircuitWorks application.

The toolbar buttons are grouped into three sections: Preview, Show, and Windows.

Preview

Click these buttons to change the size, position, or orientation of the preview image.

tool_Zoom_to_Fit_View.png Zoom to Fit Zoom to view the entire board.
tool_Zoom_to_Area_View.png Zoom to Area Zoom to a selected area. While over the preview image, click and drag to create a bounding box.
Tool_Zoom_In_Out_View.png Zoom In/Out Zoom in or out. While over the preview image, click and hold the left mouse button, and then drag up to zoom in or drag down to zoom out.
tool_Pan_View.gif Pan Move the preview image. While over the preview image, click and hold the left mouse button, and then drag up, down, left, or right to pan in that direction.
Tool_Top_Standard_Views.gif Top View Show the board and components from the top.
Tool_Bottom_Standard_Views.gif Bottom View Show the board and components from the bottom.

Show

Click these buttons to toggle the display of different items. A button is available only if the board includes items of that type.

Components  
Nonplated Holes  
Plated Holes  
Traces  
Pads  
Filled Areas  
viasbutton.gif Show Vias  
layersbuttton.gif Show Layers  
Outlines Shows or hides all outline types, including keep-outs and keep-ins.
Annotations  
Filtered Items Shows or hides filtered items. When shown, a filtered-out item is displayed in a different color shade than the corresponding filtered-in item.
Origins Shows or hides component origins, which represent the insertion point of each component and are indicated by a red X-axis and a green Y-axis. The direction of these axes show the positive X and Y directions of the local coordinate system.
You can change component insertion points when exporting ECAD data.
Designators Shows or hides reference designators.
Tool_Redraw_View.png Redraw Refreshes the preview image.

Windows

The Windows group is available only if more than one ECAD file is open in CircuitWorks. Click these buttons to organize the applications.
