GetID Method (IEdge)

Gets the persistent ID of the edge in an imported body.

Remarks

SolidWorks uses this ID to track specific edges of imported bodies.

The ID of the edge is a persistent ID that is not saved with the document. The ID of the edge can be changed by any third-party application. The intent is that you assign an ID value to a particular edge, or edges, so that you can refer to that edge within your application. Each ID value must be unique, so let SolidWorks assign the ID value when an imported body or surface is created.

Use the IAttribute object to store data with an edge.
