There are several migration scenarios for Toolbox integration, depending on your version of SOLIDWORKS and Enterprise PDM, how you previously managed Toolbox, and how you want to manage Toolbox files now.
You can:

Upgrade both SOLIDWORKS and Enterprise PDM to 2010 or later and manage a single Toolbox directory in the vault. (Recommended)

Install SOLIDWORKS Enterprise PDM 2010 or later.
- Copy all Toolbox files to the vault. For instructions on copying Toolbox files and modifying the Toolbox path, see Migrating from Partial to Complete Toolbox Integration or Migrating a Shared Toolbox.
- Run the SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager to upgrade SOLIDWORKS and Toolbox. See Upgrading to Manage Toolbox Entirely in the Vault.
- Configure Toolbox in both Enterprise PDM and SOLIDWORKS. See Configuring Toolbox in Enterprise PDM and SOLIDWORKS.

Upgrade both SOLIDWORKS and Enterprise PDM to 2010 or later and continue using two directories for Toolbox parts.

Install SOLIDWORKS Enterprise PDM 2010 or later.
- Do not change the location of any Toolbox files.
- Run the SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager to upgrade SOLIDWORKS and Toolbox.

Use the Toolbox dialog box in the Enterprise PDM Administration tool to specify the path to the folder in the vault that is used to store configurations of Toolbox parts.
Specifying the path in the Enterprise PDM Administration tool replaces the configuration method used previously, where the path was specified using the Options dialog box for the Enterprise PDM add-in in SOLIDWORKS.
- Upgrade only Enterprise PDM to 2010 or later and continue using a version of SOLIDWORKS before 2010, with two directories for Toolbox parts.
You do not need to move files or configure anything in Enterprise PDM.
