Import Electrical Data PropertyManager

In the Import Electrical Data PropertyManager, you import electrical connection and component data from an Excel spreadsheet called a from-to list.

Import From-To List

From-to list file Specify the Excel file to import.
Start a new assembly Import the from-to data into a new route subassembly.
Use existing assembly Import the from-to data into an existing route subassembly.
  • Overwrite data. Overwrite the existing from-to data in the route subassembly.
  • Insert data. Add new data to the existing data.
Search all subassemblies Searches the current assembly and all its subassemblies for pre-placed connectors that match the component reference in the from-to list. Otherwise, only the assembly itself is searched.

Set Libraries

Component library file Specify the component library .xml file.
Cable/Wire library file Specify the cable library .xml file.

Header Definitions (Excel)

Type the header text from the Excel file into the corresponding header definition field. For example, if you use PartNo as the header for the part number column in the Excel file, then type PartNo in Part number.

You can type multiple Excel headers, separated by semi-colons (no spaces), in a header definition field. For example, if you sometimes import an Excel file with a header PartNo, and at other times an Excel file with a header PN, then type PartNo;PN in Part number. The next time you import an Excel file, both entries appear and are recognized by the software.
