User Properties - Administrative Permissions

Use the Administrative Permissions page to set the permissions that control the administrative tasks the user can perform.

To access this page:

  1. Display the user's Properties dialog box.
  2. In the left pane, click Administrative Permissions.

Permission Indicators

How the permissions for a user display depends on whether the permission is specific to the user or inherited based on group membership. The possibilities are:

Permission is not set for this user.
Permission is set specifically for this user.
When multiple users or items are selected, indicates that the permission is set for one or more, but not all.
Permission is inherited based on this user's membership in a group.
In most selection lists in the user's Properties dialog box, you can select multiple objects at the same time and activate them with one action.

Administrative Permissions

Usually, only an administrative user has all the permissions available on the Administrative Permissions page. The asterisks * in the table represent the permissions that are normally set for non-administrative users.
