Where Used Tab

The Where Used tab lists the files that the selected file is referenced from. You can select the version of the file for which to view parent files or display all versions.

When you select a file on the Where Used tab, you can:

  • Click Open tool_ContainsTab_OpeninSOLIDWORKS2 to open the file in SOLIDWORKS.
  • Click Properties tool_ContainsTab_Properties to open the selected file's Properties dialog box.
  • Click Browse to tool_ContainsTab_Browsetoinnewwindow to open a new Explorer window with the file you selected on the Contains tab as the selected file in the top pane.

You can also:

  • Click Export toolWhereUsedExport.gif to export the file list as a comma-delimited file.
  • Click Open as CSV File toolWhereUsedOpenCSV.gif to open the file list in an Excel spreadsheet.
  • Click Custom References toolWhereUsedEditUserDefRef.gif to remove user-defined references.

    You must have the file checked out.

  • Click Referencing Version toolWhereUsedShowAll.gif to select whether the file list returns the latest attached version of the parent file or all referencing versions of the parent file.
