Selective Open Dialog Box

In the Selective Open dialog box, you specify which components to load. Other components are not loaded and not visible, but the effects of their mates are retained.

To open this dialog box:

  1. Open an assembly in Large Design Review mode.
  2. Click one of the following on the CommandManager:
    • Selective Open tool_SelectiveOpen_LargeDesignReview.gif. The specified components will be fully loaded.
    • Selective Open in Lightweight tool_SelectiveOpenInLW_LargeDesignReview.gif (on Selective Open flyout tool). The specified components will be loaded as lightweight.

Options

Two methods are available for specifying which components to load.

Selected components Loads the components you select. Other components become hidden and are not loaded into memory. Use standard component selection tools to select components while the dialog box is open. Then click Open Selected.
All components displayed Loads all visible components. Hidden components are not loaded into memory. Use display states and standard show/hide tools to hide components while the dialog box is open. Then click Open.
