Recognizing Patterns

The application recognizes the following types of patterns:

To recognize patterns:

  1. Click Recognize Features tool_recognize_features.gif (FeatureWorks PropertyManager) or FeatureWorks > Recognize Features.
  2. In the FeatureWorks PropertyManager, select a Recognition Mode and Feature Type.
  3. Select the Automatic Features or Interactive Features.

    For Interactive Recognition Mode, select Recognize pattern and click Recognize to quickly recognize patterns. Click PM_OK.gif to complete pattern recognition.

    For Automatic Recognition Mode, FeatureWorks recognizes linear patterns with three or more instances only.

  4. Click PM_next.gif to display the Intermediate Stage PropertyManager.
  5. Click Find Patterns.
  6. In the Pattern Recognition PropertyManager, select a Pattern Recognition Mode and Pattern Type.

    For Interactive Pattern Recognition Mode, under Pattern Features, select Search Selected Features to search for a seed feature and probable pattern features within the selected features only. Clear Search Selected Features to select only the seed feature.

  7. Click PM_next.gif.

    A dialog box reports the number of patterns found.

  8. Click OK, then click PM_OK.gif.

    FeatureWorks adds the patterns to the FeatureManager design tree.
