Render and Animation

You can use Task Scheduler to manage rendering tasks you set up in PhotoView or animation tasks you set up in Motion Studies. You must start the tasks in PhotoView or Motion Studies before you can manage them in Task Scheduler.

Scheduling PhotoView Renderings

To schedule PhotoView renderings:

  1. In SOLIDWORKS, click Schedule Render tools_render_schedule_render.png (Render Tools toolbar).
  2. Set the file name and directory.
  3. Set values for Start Time and Start Date or select to start the task after the previous scheduled task is complete.
  4. Click Settings to see a read-only list of the Document Properties and Output Settings.
  5. Click Finish.

Scheduling Animation Tasks

To schedule animation tasks:

  1. From a SOLIDWORKS motion study, click Save Animation (MotionManager toolbar).
  2. Click Schedule in the Save Animation to File dialog box.
  3. Select options in the Video Compression dialog box and click OK.
  4. In the Schedule Animation dialog box:
    1. Give the task a title.
    2. Browse to the location for the saved file.
    3. Set the Start Time and Start Date or select to start the task after the previous scheduled task is complete.
    4. Click View Settings to check the animation settings.
    5. Click Finish.
  5. From the Windows Start menu, click All Programs > SOLIDWORKS <version> > SOLIDWORKS Tools > SOLIDWORKS Task Scheduler.
  6. In the SOLIDWORKS Task Scheduler:
    1. In the Tasks pane, for Show Tasks, select Scheduled.
    2. Click the scheduled animation task.
    3. In the Render/Animation Settings dialog box, verify that the scheduled date is later than the current date and click OK.
  7. Close the SOLIDWORKS Task Scheduler.
