Folders for Distributed Tasks

Each user in the group must have read and write access to the files and folders for distributed tasks.

To verify that folders or files are accessible to the group, click Network Test in the Convert dialog box.

The access requirements are:
  • All files, including referenced files, must be in shared folders on the network.
  • All users must be able to access the folders.
  • All users must have Change and Read permissions for the folders and files.
  • Each folder or file must have a Uniform Naming Convention (UNC) path in the Convert Files list, for example:

    \\fileServer\CADfiles\myproject

Start Network Monitor before you select files or folders. The Convert Files task uses a UNC path automatically for any shared location when Network Monitor is running.

Absolute paths (for example, C:\myfiles) are unusable for a distributed file task. Delete any absolute paths in the folder list, ensure Network Monitor is running, and select a shared location.
