  • Exporting Material Properties to IFC 2x3 Files

    You can export material properties such as mass, area, and volume that are assigned to SOLIDWORKS models to IFC 2x3 files.

  • Exporting to the IFC 4.0 Format

    To make it easier to share design data with Building Information Modeling (BIM) systems, the SOLIDWORKS software supports exporting to the IFC 4.0 format.

  • Import of Visual Properties

    The SOLIDWORKS software analyzes incoming colors and combines them when assigning them to a new SOLIDWORKS part or assembly. This reduces the number of visual properties created when you import files with appearances and saves time loading the imported models.

  • Importing PTC Creo 3.0 Files

    You can open PTC Creo® 3.0 files in the SOLIDWORKS software.

  • Importing STL Models

    You can import .STL files with up to 500,000 facets (~ 24 MB for binary format .STL files and ~ 138 MB for ASCII format .STL files).
