Removing a Vault Index

When you remove a vault index, only the index catalog is removed; no physical file archives are affected by this operation.

To remove an index from a vault archive:

  1. Start the Administration tool by doing one of the following:
    • On Windows 7 and Windows Server systems prior to Windows Server 2012, from the Windows Start menu, select All Programs > SOLIDWORKS PDM > Administration .
    • On Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 or later, on the Apps screen, under SOLIDWORKS PDM, click Administration.
  2. Log into the vault whose index you want to remove.
  3. Right-click Indexing and select Open.

    If prompted, log in as a user with administrative access.

  4. Clear Index File Vault Archives and click OK.
