Adding Referenced Files to the Vault

If a parent file references files that are not in the vault, you can add the files to the vault.

If you repair broken references by replacing them with references to files outside the vault, you can add the files to the vault before you update the references.
  1. Select the parent file.
  2. Click Tools > Update References .
The Update References dialog box opens, listing all references. If referenced files are not in the vault, their path icons are grey () and the Warnings column indicates Outside SOLIDWORKS PDM .
  3. Select a reference to a file that is not in the vault.
    1. Click Add Files to Vault (toolbar).
    2. In the Add Files to Vault dialog box, select the folder to add the file to.
    3. Click Next.
    4. Ensure that the file is being added to the correct location and click Finish.
    5. In the verification message, click OK.
To add multiple files to the same vault location, select all the files.
  4. In the Update References dialog box, click Update.
  5. In the verification message, click OK.
