Searching for a Component Model

In the CircuitWorks Component Library, you can search for a component model by name using the search filter above the preview or by using the Find in Component Library dialog box.

Using the Component Library Search Field

To search using the Component Library search field:

  1. In the search field above the preview pane in the CircuitWorks Component Library dialog box, begin to type characters that are in the name of the component you want to find.
    As you type, a search-ahead capability narrows the component list in the left pane to only components whose names contain the characters you type.
  2. To clear the search and restore the full list of components, click .

Using the Find in Component Library Dialog Box

To search using the Find in Component Library dialog box:

  1. From the CircuitWorks Component Library dialog box, click Tools > Find , or right-click in the component list and select Find.
  2. In the Find in Component Library dialog box, to perform a case-sensitive search, select Case sensitive.
  3. In the Find field, type characters in the component name.
    As you type, a search-ahead capability displays a list of components whose names contain the characters you type.
  4. You can immediately select the component you are searching for from the list, or click Find Next.
    If you click Find Next, the first matching component is highlighted.
  5. Continue to click Find Next to view other matches.
  6. When you are done searching, click Cancel.
