Outline Properties

You can view and edit outline properties, such as component keep-out properties.

To access the Properties panel:

In the tree view, expand the desired outline node (such as Component Keep-Out Areas), then right-click the outline and select Properties.
Not all outline types have the same properties. For example, some keep-out and keep-in areas are 2D rather than 3D so do not have heights.
Name Specifies the outline name.
Owner Specifies an owner. An Owner is not supported by all ECAD systems. The CircuitWorks software can modify the outline properties, ignoring the owner value. You can change the value before exporting IDF data:

ECAD

You can modify the model only in the ECAD system.

MCAD

You can modify the model only in the MCAD system.

Unowned

You can modify the model in either system.
Board Side (Only some outline types) Specifies where the outline is located:

Top

Bottom

Routing Layers (Routing outlines only) Specifies where the routing outline is located:

Top

Bottom

Both

Inner

All

Start Definition (Read-only) Specifies the layer where the outline begins.
End Definition (Read-only) Specifies the layer where the outline ends.
Start Height Specifies the height of the bottom of the outline relative to the bottom of the board.
End Height (Group properties only) Specifies the height of the top of the outline relative to the bottom of the board.
Thickness (mm) (3D outline types only) Specifies the outline thickness.
Filter Status

Filtered In

Specifies that the outline is included.

Filtered Out

Specifies that the outline is excluded when you build in SOLIDWORKS.
