Adding Motion Blur to an Animation

When you save an animation, you can use motion blur to simulate the dynamic blurring effect of a static image of a moving object.

You can add motion blur to an animation or extract a single frame that shows the motion blur from a motion study.

Depending on your choice of Frames to Output, your output will be:

A single frame An animation

To add motion blur to an animation:

  1. Add in PhotoView 360.
  2. Open an existing motion study for a part or assembly.
  3. Click Save Animation (MotionManager toolbar).
  4. In the Save Animation to File dialog box, specify the Save in location, File name, and Save as type.
  5. Select a PhotoView 360 for Renderer.
  6. Under Frame Information:
    1. Enter a value for Frames per second (default is 7.5).
    2. For Frames to Output, select one of the following:
      • Entire animation
      • Time range to specify a start and end value so that the software saves part of the animation.
      • Single frame to select and save one frame from the animation.
    3. Select Motion Blur and adjust the Blur Length and Blur Offset.
  7. Do one of the following:
    • Click Save to save the animation immediately.
    • Click Schedule to schedule when the animation is saved.

Open the SOLIDWORKS Task Scheduler to initiate the scheduled task.

Adjust the values in the dialog box and click OK.

The PhotoView Animation Progress dialog box reports render status and closes when the animation is finished.
