DXF/DWG PropertyManager

To open the DXF/DWG PropertyManager:

Import a .DXF or .DWG file as a drawing and select Embed as a sheet in native DXF/DWG format in the DXF/DWG Import Wizard dialog box.

Drawings in DXF/DWG native format are view-only.

To import a .DXF or .DWG file:

  1. Click File > Open.
  2. Select DXF or DWG for Files of Type, select the file, and click Open.
  3. Select Create new SOLIDWORKS drawing, select options, and click Finish.

Link Reference

Link to Enables linking of the native format sheet in the SOLIDWORKS drawing document (*.slddrw) to its source DWG file. If the DWG source file is modified after the *.slddrw file is created, the native format sheet appearance updates accordingly.
Folder Specify the path to the linked source DWG file.
Update Manually update the link and the native format display after you browse to the source DWG file in the Folder box.
