Model Requirements
You start with a model with one or more configurations. (By default, all SOLIDWORKS models have at least one configuration.)
The Configuration Publisher requires that the model contain a design table, even if the model has only one configuration. For more information about design tables, see Design Table Configurations.
Use one of the following methods to define the configurations and the PropertyManager:
Single-configuration model (Single-row design table)
|
If you start with a single-configuration model, you do not need to create a configuration for each valid combination of parameters. For models with many variations, this saves time and reduces file size.
|
The design table must contain: - A single row for the Default configuration
- A column for each variable
- Values for each variable
Use the Configuration Publisher dialog box to define the PropertyManager by:- Creating rules to define the configurations
- Assigning values for the variables
- Defining relationships between the variables
|
Multiple-configuration model (Multiple-row design table)
|
Use this method if the model already contains all the configurations you need.
|
The design table must contain: - A row for each configuration
- A column for each variable
- Values for each variable
Use the Configuration Publisher dialog box to define the PropertyManager.
