Opening Configured Assembly Documents

When you open an assembly document, you can create a new configuration, and either suppress or resolve all of the components at once. You can specify which configuration to use for the parts contained in the new assembly configuration.

To specify a configuration when opening an assembly:

  1. Click File > Open.
  2. In the Open dialog box:
    1. Select an assembly document.
    2. Under Configurations, select <Advanced>.
    3. Click Open.
  3. Specify options in the Configure Document dialog box.
  4. Click OK.
    The assembly opens with the specified configuration.
