Inserting Custom Text

You can add a text block to a template that is edited by the template user. When publishing the 3D PDF document, the template user enters the text that appears in the final 3D PDF document.

To insert a text field when publishing:

  1. In the SOLIDWORKS 3D PDF Template Editor, click Text .
  2. In the PropertyManager, click Text Field .
    A Text Area Placeholder appears on the template.
  3. In Field name, type a name.
  4. In Instructions, type the instructions that appear in the Custom Text dialog box when you publish the 3D PDF document.
  5. Select the Font Size, Font Family, and Text Color.
  6. Optionally, drag the text block to a location and resize it using the handles.
  7. Click .
