Setting Up a Node Computer

Node computers are members of a group of computers that run distributed tasks.

To set up a node computer:

  1. If this computer has a firewall, open the following ports: 16162, 16163, and 16164.

All node computers and the coordinator must be able to communicate with each other.

  2. Click Network Monitor (Tasks toolbar).
  3. Click Node Computer.
  4. Under Name of the Coordinator, type the network name of the coordinator computer.

The coordinator might have sent the computer name in an email.

  5. Click Connect To.

This makes your system available for distributed tasks.

  6. Set conversion options:
    1. Select Enable Network Monitor after login to ensure that Network Monitor restarts automatically.
    2. Run SOLIDWORKS minimized.
    3. Select a Task working folder.
  7. To convert files while you are doing other work, click Tasks/Network, select your computer name under Network, and click Allow tasks.
  8. Minimize Network Monitor.

Network Monitor must be running for distributed conversion tasks.
