Equation-driven Results

You can create new Simulation result plots that are defined with equations using standard mathematical functions of existing result variables.

To create an equation-driven result plot, right-click Results and click Results Equations.

In the Edit Equation dialog box, enter the equation that drives the new result plot. The drop-down menu lists available mathematical functions and result variables you can enter in the equation field.

Node Values Combines result components based on nodal values.
Element Values Combines result components based on element values.
Functions Lists the acceptable mathematical functions to include in the equation.
Stresses, Strains, Displacements Filters acceptable result components to include in the equation.

Enter a legend for the plot and the applicable units in Legend title text.

The Results Equation Plot is available for static, linear dynamic, thermal, drop test, submodeling, and pressure vessel studies. You can only combine result variables from the active study.
