If a mate reference is missing from a component that is used in many places in an assembly, you can replace the missing reference for all instances at the same time.
When you replace the mate reference for one of the many affected mates, a dialog box offers the option to replace it in all other mates with the same missing reference.
To globally replace failed mate references:
-
Open
install_dir\samples\whatsnew\assemblies\global_replace\blocks_knobs_903.sldasm.
The assembly contains two instances of
knob_002.
The same cylindrical surface on each knob is used in a concentric mate to a block.
- Select a knob and click Open Part
.
- At the bottom of the FeatureManager design tree, select the suppressed feature Resolve2 and click Unsuppress
.A revolved spline feature replaces the cylindrical surface used in the concentric mates in the assembly.
