Activating the SOLIDWORKS PDM Add-in

Activate the SOLIDWORKS PDM add-in to access source control and workflow tools within SOLIDWORKS.

  1. In SOLIDWORKS, click Tools > Add-ins and verify that SOLIDWORKS PDM is selected.
  2. Click the SOLIDWORKS PDM icon to open the Task Pane.
  3. In SOLIDWORKS, open or create a part, drawing, or assembly to view SOLIDWORKS PDM information for the file in the Task Pane.
    If the file is not checked out, you are prompted to check it out before you open it. For files that contain references to other files, the Check Out dialog box opens.
  4. Right-click the file or a variable to display a menu of SOLIDWORKS PDM commands.
