Use the Viewers page to define the external viewers that are used for the View File command.
The
View File command is used if:
- A file type is not supported by the built-in preview
- Users want to open a file in a separate viewer window
- Users want to view files that are outside the vault
These settings do not affect the built-in Preview tab, which displays a preview for most file types when a user selects a file in a vault.
To display the Settings dialog box:
Right-click a user or group and select Settings.
Installed viewers

Lists viewers that have been associated with the View File command.
Select an existing association to edit it.

Add (SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional only)
|
Adds a viewer to the list.
|
Remove (SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional only)
|
Removes a selected viewer from the list.

Extensions
|
Extensions of file types to be supported by the viewer you are adding.
Multiple file types are separated with commas.
An * matches any kind of file.

Paths and arguments to viewer program:
|
The full path to the viewer application.
|
|
Lets you choose the file name argument or choose from a list of environment variables.
