Logging In

To manage your files, you log in and open a file vault.

  1. Start Windows Explorer and navigate to the vault view.
Vaults are displayed with the SOLIDWORKS PDM icon next to the vault name.

Local vault views appear in the location where they were created and in the Favorites list at the top of the navigation pane.

  2. Click the vault icon.
  3. If this is the first time you have logged in to SOLIDWORKS PDM, in the License Agreement dialog box, read the License Agreement, select I accept the terms in the license agreement, and click OK.
  4. Type your User name and Password and click Log In.
Depending on how SOLIDWORKS PDM is configured, you might be logged in automatically.
The log in screen has a Work Offline link that lets you work on files in your local cache off-line when you are not connected to a SOLIDWORKS PDM vault.

After you log in, the SOLIDWORKS PDM icon appears in the icons on the left side of the taskbar and is present until you exit SOLIDWORKS PDM. If taskbar icons are hidden, click show_hidden_icons to see the icon.

If you log off rather than exit, the icon for the file vault remains in the task bar and you can click it to log back in.

Logging in from the icon in the taskbar does not open Windows Explorer.
