Options Dialog Box - User Interface Tab

To display the User Interface tab of the Options dialog box, click Tools > Options, and click User Interface.

Interface Options

Language Lets you set the language.
Enable Tooltips Shows or hides short instructions that appear when you hover over a tool or control.
Undo Camera Movements Causes the Undo tool to undo camera movements along with other edits. When cleared, everything but cameras are undone.
Use Alt+Shift for Walking Camera Navigation Enables or disables the walking camera.
Live Thumbnail Update Updates all thumbnails that appear in the Palette on the Objects, Appearances, and Cameras tabs.
Automatically Play Movies Automatically plays movies when you select Create Movie when you render an animation.

It opens and plays the animation in the media player that is associated with the extension to which you output the movie.

Start in Easy Mode Opens the software in Easy Mode on subsequent runs.

When cleared, the software opens in Normal Mode.

Appearance Assignment Preview Applies a preview of the selected appearance as you drag the appearance over an object.

When cleared, the appearance is not applied until after you finish assigning the appearance to a specific object.

Viewport Navigation

Navigation Mode Choose between SOLIDWORKS Visualize , SOLIDWORKS CAD, or Walking Camera mode.

Spacemouse Options

Navigation Mode Choose between Camera VR (inverted) mode or World CAD mode (the default).

Available only in SOLIDWORKS Visualize Professional

Interface Highlight Current Multi Viewport Highlights the active Viewport in a multiple Viewport layout.
Timeline Options Default Keyframe Tangent Rule In Lets you set the default style of keyframes when you create them.

Choose one of the following:

  • Linear
  • Flat
  • Smooth
  • Hold
  Default Keyframe Tangent Rule Out
Turntable Presentation Auto-Size Turntable Automatically determines the size of the turntable by the size of the model.

When cleared, you set the size of the turntable using Default Turntable Size.

  Default Turntable Size (m) (Available when Auto-Size Turntable is cleared.) Lets you set the size of turntables (in meters).
