Motion study motors idealize actual motors. Motion study motors constrain assembly components to move with a specified motion regardless of external loads.
Consequently, you can define a constant speed motor in a motion study and the resulting motion is not influenced by applied external loads. For actual motors, the motor speed varies with the application of external loads or friction. Consider this difference when interpreting reflected load inertia or mass results.
Reflected load mass is the perceived mass of an assembly at the motor drive shaft of a linear motor. You can compute and plot the reflected load mass.
To compute reflected load mass:
Reflected load inertia is the perceived inertia of an assembly at the motor drive shaft of a rotary motor. For Motion Analysis type studies, you can compute and plot the reflected load inertia.
