Plotting Rigid Body Orientation

You can plot the orientation of a moving part.

  1. From a Motion Analysis study, click Results and Plots Tool_Results_and_Plots.gif (MotionManager toolbar).
  2. In the PropertyManager, for Category, select Other Quantities.
  3. For Subcategory and Select result component, select from the following:
    Subcategory Result Component
    Euler Angles Select one of the following:
    • Psi
    • Theta
    • Phi
    Pitch/Yaw/Roll Select one of the following:
    • Pitch
    • Yaw
    • Roll
    Bryant Angles Select one of the following:
    • Angle 1
    • Angle 2
    • Angle 3
  4. From a Motion Analysis study, click Results and Plots Tool_Results_and_Plots.gif (MotionManager toolbar).
  5. In the PropertyManager, for Category, select Other Quantities.
  6. For features , select a part face to calculate the result for the rotational motion of the part.
  7. Select the Plot Results options you require, and click .
    The result appears in the MotionManager tree.
  8. Click Calculate Tool_Calculate.gif (MotionManager toolbar).
